If you’re considering getting BOTOX® Cosmetic injections at our Rocky Mount, NC, practice, we also offer XEOMIN to treat certain expression lines. In 2011, the FDA approved XEOMIN to reduce vertical frown lines between the eyebrows, but it’s often used to treat other dynamic wrinkles as well.

What’s the Difference Between XEOMIN and BOTOX?

XEOMIN and BOTOX reduce wrinkles and lines caused by muscle movements when we change expressions. Both are injectable neuromodulators; like BOTOX, XEOMIN uses botulinum toxin type A to relax the muscles that pull on the skin. XEOMIN, however, differs from BOTOX in a meaningful way: XEOMIN’s formula doesn’t contain any additives. It uses a “naked,” purified form of the specialized neurotoxin, helping you achieve the same results as BOTOX without unnecessary ingredients.

Dr. Park’s Approach:

Although multiple BOTOX alternatives are available in the US, BOTOX is the most well-known neurotoxin. It was the first approved by the FDA. The most common areas treated are between the brows, the forehead, and the crow’s feet areas of the eyes. The effectiveness in these areas is excellent and consistent.

Neurotoxins are wonderful ways to soften the appearance of the face, especially in the area of the upper face. They can also be used to address specific muscles around the mouth, although my experience is that the results in this area tend to be less consistent. Treatment of certain conditions of the neck is also possible.

How Long Does XEOMIN Last?

The duration of your results depends on several factors, including your skin’s health, how quickly you metabolize the product, and the area treated. In general, XEOMIN lasts about 3 months.

How Much Does XEOMIN Cost in Rocky Mount, NC?

The cost of XEOMIN in the Rocky Mount area, like the cost of BOTOX, depends on the number of units needed to produce the desired results and the expertise and experience of the injector. When you consult with Dr. Park, we will provide a price estimate after you describe your concerns and cosmetic goals.
