Laser Skin Resurfacing
A laser skin treatment reverses signs of aging, reduces acne scarring, and smooths rough skin texture caused by sun damage. You can renew your complexion with laser skin resurfacing at our Rocky Mount, NC, practice. Our erbium laser is gentler than other skin-resurfacing lasers but still produces noticeable results even after a single treatment.

What Are the Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing with our erbium laser treats many skin conditions. Some of the benefits include the following:
- Helps reverse damage caused by sun exposure
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Improves the skin’s tone and texture
- Shrinks enlarged pores
- Treats a greater range of skin tones
- Minimizes hyperpigmentation
- Requires minimal downtime
- Reduces acne scarring
One advantage of the erbium laser is that it targets—and precisely removes—the tissue you’re treating with minimal damage to the surrounding skin.
Dr. Park’s Approach:
Laser skin resurfacing is often a ‘homerun’ type procedure. It renews the skin in a way that is difficult to achieve with any other modality. The most common areas I treat include:
- Lower eyelids
- Around the mouth
- Entire face
You can compare the recovery to a medium kitchen burn in the treatment area. The results can be remarkable, with improved wrinkles, color, tone, overall softness, and smoothness. The recovery takes 1 to 2 weeks on average before makeup is allowed. Sun protection is the key after the procedure. It can really be a revitalizing procedure with impressive changes.
How Much Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost in Rocky Mount, NC?
The cost of laser skin resurfacing treatments varies depending on the treatment area or areas and the condition treated. After discussing your concerns and goals during a consultation, we will provide you with a specific price quote. You can also contact us for a general laser skin resurfacing price range.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?
A laser skin resurfacing treatment removes the skin’s outer layer, the epidermis, with concentrated pulsating light beams. At the same time, the laser heats the underlying skin, called the dermis, triggering the body’s natural healing response. This stimulates the growth of new collagen fibers essential for smooth, firm skin.
Laser skin resurfacing’s targeted approach means there are fewer problems with hypopigmentation (skin lightening) after procedures such as laser acne scar removal.
Combining Laser Skin Resurfacing With Other Treatments
Even though laser skin treatments produce radiant, youthful-looking skin, patients often combine the procedure with other nonsurgical treatments, such as laser hair removal and vein treatments. In addition to quality skincare products, injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM® fillers can be part of an overall skincare regimen designed to renew, preserve, and protect your skin.
It’s easy for qualified patients to finance their procedures through CareCredit®, which offers attractive payment plans for women and men choosing elective cosmetic surgery or nonsurgical treatments.Learn More
What Is Recovery Like After Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Even though the erbium laser is gentler than other skin-resurfacing lasers, such as a CO2 laser, it still causes the sensation of a mild sunburn. You can expect redness and swelling and experience itching or stinging for a few days after the procedure. The treated skin typically takes about a week to develop a crusty surface, which peels and reveals smooth, firm skin.
