Xeomin®
Dr. Park’s Approach:
“Although there are 3 Neurotoxins currently available in the US, most know of Botox which was the first available. Botox, Xeomin and Dysport all work on the principle of paralyzing the muscle which is causing wrinkling. The most common areas treated are between the brows, the forehead, and the crows feet areas of the eyes. The effectiveness in these areas is excellent and consistent. The treatments usually last about 3 months, although I have patients who have consistently had treatments for many years and appear to have undergone some muscle atrophy which has prolonged the interval for them between treatments.
These Neurotoxins are wonderful ways to soften the appearance of the face, especially in the area of the upper face. They also can be used to address specific muscles around the mouth, although my experience here is that the results in this area tend to be a little less consistent. Treatment of certain conditions of the neck is also possible.“
What is Xeomin?
Xeomin contains Botulinum Toxin type A, the same active ingredient found in Botox and Dysport. It’s the only Botulinum Toxin that does not require refrigeration and it’s used to smooth facial wrinkles.
